We post several social events throughout the month that we would like to make the community aware of. This month, for instance, we have a female led DnD campaign starting on Jan 29th, Assembly Required Asheville Designer Toy Expo Feb 4th & 5th, the dramatic reading of Thief of Always by Tim Tues Feb 7th, Star Trek Tng Trivia Feb 17th & our 18th "Nerd Expedition" to see Ant-man & the Wasp Quantumania Feb 19th. We have successfully helped hundreds of visitors find their "people" as we ourselves have also found most of our friends within these walls.

We are presenting in front of the FDA on 12/8 asking them to revise their current blood donation deferment policy, which bans queer men from donating blood if they are sexually active. Our top priority right now is getting names to sign the petition, which is the easiest way to show the FDA that their is support for a change in policy.

I'd like to post to the calender about our First Annual Oxford Houses of Asheville's National Convention Fundraiser being held at The Grove House on Sunday July 10th, doors open at 6:30, show starts at 7-8pm, event closes at 8:30. There is no cover charge. There will be raffling for prizes. We will offer food and refreshments to quench your thirst after drooling over the drag show.

I would like to post to the calendar about open to all events through Council on Aging for education, service and advocacy related to aging as well as potentially share stories, news and resources via newsstand. We would like to remain relevant and engaged as we view social determinants of health and community based services for aging in place.

I am working on behalf of the Asheville Soccer League to organize volunteer singers to sing the National Anthem for their home games. I am seeking a singer for Saturday, June 26 for their Pride Game at 7:30pm. If there is a singer who is interested in volunteering, I would appreciate them contacting me by email or phone. We have a wonderful drag performer, Delighted Tobehere, coming to the Magnetic next month, and often produce plays in which sexuality and/or gender diversity appear as themes.
