    Asheville Holiday Parade- Winter Wonderland

    It is that time of year for the annual Asheville Christmas  Parade and Blue Ridge Pride will be participating in this festive event.  We already have the Asheville Beer City Sisters walking with our float and we want you to join us and help show our PRIDE!

    Here are the details:

      -Parade will be Saturday November 19th from 11am – 1pm. Please arrive prior to 11am start of parade.

      -Meeting location- All floats line up on Charlotte Street. The parade starts at the intersection of Biltmore and Charlotte. We are generally half way down in the line up. Just look for the 7′ unicorn. More details will be coming forth as the Parade Committee releases more information.

    More information from the Asheville Parade Committee –

    NO CARDS OR HANDOUTS may be given out UNLESS attached to candy or other gift like a coupon. We are still discussing the possibility of handing out something.

    NO THROWING ANYTHING. Items can only be handed to spectators. This is an important for the safety of attendees and entrants. You will be held responsible for any related injuries. Any entry who is seen throwing items into the crowd will be immediately removed and denied entry for future parades.

    Parade Dress Code– Everyone walking in the parade must be dressed for a parade (coordinated outfits or costumes). Make it entertaining! NOTE- we do not expect you to come if full-on costume, unless you want to go for it. We will have a 7′ Unicorn on our float with some other decorations. We do have a few unicorn barrets- first come first served. NOTE: There is only one Santa, so no entrants may dress as Santa. Hats, elves and reindeer are okay.

    No demonstrating or protesting, positive or negative is allowed by parade participants. Please understand that the parade is not the appropriate venue for this activity.  • The parade will not be cancelled due to rain, cold or heat, so dress accordingly (layer beneath your costume).  • Smoking (including vaping) or alcoholic beverages are not allowed on any float, in any vehicle or by any participants during the parade.  • Parade entrants agree to follow direction of parade marshals, parade staff, volunteers, police and other officials.

    LINE UP: Details concerning the line-up of the parade, where to assemble, and other parade instructions will be emailed out prior to the parade.

    ANIMALS: Pets are not permitted with individual entries. Only animal-related nonprofit groups may include animals with their entry.

    We are very excited for this years event and excited to see all your smiling faces together, representing the diversity of our LGBTQ+ community!  Remember, visibility is a key component to acceptance. We believe in ‘growing community together’.
