Every year, we are amazed by the talent and generosity of our local performers.  We are a very luck community.

This year, in spite of threats sent in emails and social media, 18 local drag performers showed up to share their interpretations of gendered identity and expression. Among them, our newly crowned Miss Blue Ridge Pride, Josie Glamoure.

We also give a special shout-out to the Street Creature Puppet Collective, Brass Your Heart, Second Line Band, and Asheville Mardi Gras.  All of them offered to perform in the Procession for free.  They are true community builders!  We encourage you to support them – as we insisted on doing.

The Street Creature Puppet Collective created an amazing salute to local LGBTQ leaders from our Oral History Project (shared in a separate post).  They are looking for a new space in which to prepare projects like their salute to our community. Check out their web site to learn how you can help. Support our local artists!
