QUESTION - Register voters
Is it okay if I offer to register people to vote at my booth during Pride Fest? The main reason for my booth is to advertise my business and recruit customers, but I thought it'd be good if I encourage voting and register people to vote as well. If it's okay, I will reach out to the Buncombe county elections office for their advice. Thank you! - Leslie Koretz

OTHER - Bit of a Conundrum
Hello there. I was to be a vendor at a previous pride event that was cancelled. At the time, my fee was refunded to me by check.
It was written out to the name I used to sign up, which at the time was not my legal name.
I have since changed to that name, but I'm concerned the check is expired at this point.
I have the check, so if you need any details to confirm that it was never cashed, I'm happy to provide.

I have an alternate proposal for this, if it may be amenable. I'd like to sign up for the pride this year (of course happy to go through the process as normal) and return/destroy the check, and we just use those funds towards my fee for vending. Of course I'll pay the difference, as well.

Please let me know your thoughts and if you have any other ideas.
Thanks! - Crowe Waymaker

Told him to apply and we would apply payment to cost.

IDEA - Pride event- we would like to donate proceeds to you!
Hello Blue Ridge Pride!

My name is Sam- I am the marketing and events coordinator at Twin Leaf Brewery in downtown Asheville! Our small team of employees all support your mission and everything that you do! We’d love to get involved with your organization and partner this pride month!

We have an event planned for Tuesday, June 21st to celebrate our pride. This event will be at the brewery- it is a summer solstice/ Pride party that happens to fall on the date of our very own loud and proud GM, Salina’s birthday. For her birthday, her one and only wish was to throw a bash and raise money to support the LGBTQ+ community! We have been searching high and low for an organization to support with the proceeds from this event. While there are tons of LGBTQ+ orgs in and around town, our search was extensive and we landed on y’all!

Event details>>>
The event will be Tuesday, June 21st from 6:30-10 pm. We have partnered up with LGBTQ+ local business, Gospel Icecream, LGBTQ+ Local trivia Legend, Lady Fantastic, and 3 amazing drag queens to bring all the fun to the party! We will have Icecream, trivia, a drag show, beer, gourmet hot dogs, a photo booth , and more! We are expecting a big turnout for this event and we would love to partner up with Southern Equality for this one! I’ve attached our flyer in this email- you can also find details on our Instagram account @twinleafbeer

Fundraising details>>>
We’d love to donate a portion of profit from each beer sold to you and your cause. Gospel Ice cream will also be donating a portion of all of their proceeds. We understand this is extremely last minute, but we wanted to be thorough in our search and choose what we felt was the right organization to partner up with for this event! We recently did a similar event, partnered with Asheville Humane and it was a wonderful turnout which brought in a lot of donations for the shelter!

We’d love if you had any representatives from BRP who were able to come to the event, set up a table, and talk with members of the community about what we stand for and what it means to embody the purpose of equality. You’re also welcome to take additional donations at your table if you wish to! (AHS did a similar thing during our event with them and they about doubled their donations through conversation about their purpose at their table). Again- completely understand if it’s too last min to pull this together but we would absolutely love if we could pull it off and you could be present!

Please let me know asap what y’all think about all of this and if we can partner up for this super fun event! We are SO excited and we really hope you can be a part of it with us! Thanks so much! Feel free to text or email me! 216-973-4477!

HAPPY PRIDE, Hope to talk soon!

QUESTION - Pride festival questions…
We had a booth and a tent and all of that reserved last year for the pride festival and it got canceled. I had asked for y’all to keep our deposit in all of that and just carry it over for this year. I just wanted to confirm that we still have the same situation reserved for the pride festival for this year? I don’t know where to go to see all that. Thanks - Bre Powers

I just got hired as HR Director in the Nantahala Outdoor Center, and I want to create a new program emphasizing diversity, equity and inclusion in the outdoor space. I know you're probably very busy with Pride Month and such, but I'd love to discuss what we can do to encourage LGBTQ+ participation in outdoor recreation, and how we can help the queer community overall. We have been brainstorming such things as white parties, and LGBTQ+ specific events, but I'd appreciate the optics from the community as well. Thanks for your time, I hope to hear from you soon!
