Meetings: Meets once a month, at restaurants or at St. Mary’s Parrish Hall (337 Charlotte Street). Meetings generally begin at 6:30 PM, with a social hour from 7:45 PM to 8:30 PM. Visit our site to download an application.
We founded Prime Timers World Wide and then became its local chapter .
Restrictions / Fees: Membership only, guests welcome. $30 application fee. Asheville Prime Timers is a unique organization of Gay and Bi men in the 40 and upwards range. Anyone younger is accepted, as some members have younger partners.
Our chapter grew out of the, once-a-month gathering, Asheville Supper Club which is the oldest continuous meeting organization in Asheville dating back to 1980. Many members were looking for a more structured group with activities throughout the year and not just a once-a-month meeting.

- Becoming a Prime Timer affords you as much or as little interaction as you desire. We also have excursions and tours locally and overnight day trips. The group sends out notices of upcoming events to members, but no one is ever pressured to do an activity.
- The main purpose of our Prime Timers is to welcome newcomers as well as other residents of the area who are looking to meet new friends, experience events with others and for singles or widowers to reconnect with what is happening in the community.
- We are not a hook-up group, though we do afford the opportunity for couples and singles to make new friends to enjoy dinners and other activities. We maintain this website for referral of activities both exclusively Prime Timers and community of interest to members. There is no mailing list for non-members.
- Our goal is to enhance your Asheville Gay living experience with Discussion Groups | Health Issue Awarness | Retirement Issues | Bridge/Card Groups | Book Club | Social Events | Progressive Dinners | Game Nights | Gym Workouts | Overnight Outings | Camping Events | Travel | National /International Affiliation | and much more….. while still maintaining a great relationship/interaction with the Asheville Supper Club group.
