PFLAG Asheville operates as a membership-supported 501c3 non-profit with a local Board of Directors who are each passionate about creating an organization that supports its local community through peer support meetings, education, and advocacy. We collaborate with other local non-profit partners to foster and promote understanding, combat misinformation and fear and share information, all with the mission to support the LGBTQIA+ community and their loved ones, and to be the change that will help make our world a better place for each new generation.
PFLAG Asheville offers support groups in the form of monthly meetings, and hosts speakers and educational presentations (open to the entire community). We offer tools to parents or extended family and friends concerned about their LGBTQIA+ young people, and empower them by connecting them with information and resources relating to finding medical professionals, mental health care professionals, legal help, and school related issues.
