Womansong is a 75-member community chorus and village of women from Asheville NC. They are of diverse ages, musical abilities, backgrounds, and perspectives. They sing for joy and the creation of community, focussing on musical excellence and providing a safe, nurturing environment for musical expression and creativity. Accompaniment is provided by a variety of instruments, including piano, flute, drums, and violin. Through its music and community efforts, Womansong brings women together to nurture our community and our world. The chorus promotes unity and honors cultural diversity with songs that celebrate many themes in women’s lives, including empowerment, spirituality, healing, and humor.
