Many 50+ adults struggle to access the affordable, quality health coverage and care they need. AARP and community collaborators in North Carolina, Virginia, and Tennessee invite you to join us for an informational and networking opportunity to explore the unique challenges and opportunities of access to health care in the South Central Appalachian Region. This event will be moderated by Rose Hoban and will include community leaders involved in alternative approaches and governmental support for access to healthcare.
SAVE THE DATE! Hearing Loss and Accessibility Expo September 1, in Hendersonville. There will be presentations on resources the state provides as well as a hearing dog demonstration. This Expo will allow people with hearing loss as well as professionals and caretakers more information on how to cope with communication difficulties in various settings. Division of Services for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing has several programs for hard of hearing population- Equipment Distribution Services and Hearing Aid Services at no cost for those that qualify. We will host several booths for people to learn more about these programs. Accommodations will be available (CART- Computer Assisted Real Time for captions; Interpreters, Assistive Listening Devices). Light refreshments will be served. Questions?
