The Asheville Prime Timers (AVLPT) will be hosting the noted gay author Dr. Loren Olson for an insightful and fun literary evening.

Dr. Olson is the author of a number of award-winning books discussing various aspects of the gay experience, and we are especially pleased that he will be coming to Asheville on his book tour.  AVLPT will be hosting him at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, and we are inviting the wider LGBT community to join us. We will be meeting at 5pm for a Social Hour / Reception, with all attendees requested to bring some sort of appetizer to share with the group.  Dr. Olson will speak at 6pm, with a Q&A/Discussion afterwards.

We are inviting the larger LGBT Community to the event, and are certain that the evening will be fun for all.  Spread the word among your friends and in other community groups that all are invited!

Sunday, May 15    5pm  –  St. Marys Church, 337 Charlotte Street, Asheville

We request that attendees RSVP to the Prime Timers so we can best prepare for the event, and that they bring an appetizer for the group to share.  Proof of COVID vaccination is required for entry.

“The award-winning author of Finally Out: Letting Go of Living Straight, flings open the doors on the hard stuff in this candid and inspiring new memoir.

In No More Neckties: A Memoir in Essays, Dr. Olson shares the story of his life and its hard lessons.

A practicing psychiatrist and a proud husband and grandfather, Dr. Olson writes about intensely personal events such as tragedy and loss; love and heartbreak; infidelity and betrayal; fear of aging; and never feeling good enough. Nearly everyone, whether they’re gay, straight, bisexual, or something else, can relate to his experiences.”

Holistic Perspectives P.O. Box 333, Enka, NC 2872  Phone: (828) 333-0103  | siljoy@me.com or  www.HolisticPerspectives.com For many years now I have been mentoring men and women from all walks of life. It continues to be my greatest joy to accompany someone from “just being ok” into thriving! As a Mentor & Healer I partner with my clients in creating authenticity, wellness and deep contentment, in whatever area of their lives they are seeking change. The combination of giving very practical, livable tools for direct “next steps” while “holding the big picture” and then manifesting that big picture often feels like this: a new client brings me their life or life situation in a jigsaw puzzle box, they lost the lid and forgot what the picture on it looked like. I am good at knowing that picture and then guiding my clients/mentees to put all the puzzle pieces together.
