Asheville Poverty Initiative and 12 Baskets Cafe

Asheville Poverty Initiative aims to build community and promote economic justice. 12 Baskets Café is a conversation café and food rescue initiative that creates space for meeting neighbors around the lunch table while celebrating the abundance of good food, all for free!

Located in West Asheville at 610 Haywood Rd, behind Firestorm Bookstore and across from Sunny Point Cafe (street parking only). All are welcome to come get some good food and share in the abundance!

Our Realities of Poverty program provides educational opportunities led by individuals with direct experience living in poverty in Asheville City. Our Educators work with interested community groups, organizations, and classes.
