SkillSet Program at UNCA STEAM Studio
SkillSet is an outreach program of UNC Asheville’s STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) Studio that provides access to life-changing skills through maker-based education. We teach everything from making custom electric guitars to robotics and furniture. We primarily serve under resourced communities, female-identified and non-binary students. By teaching participants the Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math embedded in the objects they create, Skillset equips the next generation of leaders and problem solvers with the tools to make change and build the future.
