How to Submit Events
Who Can Submit Events?
We seek to make this site community-driven. We particularly welcome events and news from:
- Loal LGBTQ Organizations and Groups
- LGBTQ+-Welcoming Groups that seek participation from our community
- Non-Profit Organizations that Serve and Welcome the LGBTQ Community
- Businesses that have events and news that are specifically relevant to the LGBTQ community.
What Can You Submit?
- COMMUNITY RELEVANCE: We want to feature events, meetings, and outings that are clearly relevant to our region’s LGBTQ+ community and allies. We welcome events that target the general public, so long as they have some clear relevance to our community.
- REGIONAL RELEVANCE: We welcome listings from any community within 50 miles of our WNC footprint. This includes nearby communities in adjacent states.
- FAMILY-FRIENDLY: While we list events that may target adult-only audiences, we do not allow any graphics or language that may be considered explicit or suggestive.
- COMMUNITY-FRIENDLY: No abusive, defamatory, degrading, deceptive, explicit, or intimidating language or graphics.
Please note that we reserve the right to reject a submission for any reason.
How to Submit Content
You can submit events three ways:
- DIRECT ENTRY: Register for permission to create and maintain your own entries. [We have to approve them before they appear publicly. We try to do this within a day.]
- EMAIL: Email your event information to us (email link), or send a link with the event information. For example, you can send us a facebook link. We will take the information and graphics from that. Be sure to include any images and links you want us to include (e.g., registration).
- AUTOMATIC IMPORTS: If you have frequent LGBTQ-relevant events and maintain them on Facebook, Eventbrite, Meetup, or another web page, send us a link. If you have a newsletter with events, send us a subscription link. We will review your content weekly or monthly and add events from there.
Please note: Only Direct Entry gives you full control over content and relatively quick turnaround time. If you use the other options, you will have to work with our volunteers’ best efforts to interpret your submissions. Since this is a free service, we are not equipped to provide real-time customer support.
