"1946" Documentary Screening and Film Discussion

  • First Baptist Chapel 5 Oak Street Asheville, NC, 28801 United States (map)

Did you know that the word "homosexuality" was not in the Bible until 1946? Together with The Cathedral of All Souls and the First Baptist Church of Asheville, we are hosting a film screening of the 3-time award-winning documentary "1946," which delves into how and why the word was sandwiched into the Bible and its implications for the LGBTQIA+ community today.

Following the screening, the Reverend Sarah Hurlbert from All Souls will lead a discussion regarding the film.

This is a FREE event! There is no need to purchase a ticket. However, we do ask folks to sign-up so that we know how many folks are coming for ordering snacks and space limitations. RSVP here: https://blueridgepride.kindful.com/e/1946-film-screening
